A serrated bread knife

This bread knife is equipped with a serrated blade designed to help slice baguettes, rustic loaves, sandwich bread, and other crusty breads. The back-and-forth motion helps cut through the crust without pressing down as you would with a straight blade.

Two versions are available: saw model and archer model. The shape of the handle and the feel in the hand may vary depending on the chosen model. Prices and availability are indicated in the variant selector.

Tips for slicing bread

1. Place the bread on a stable cutting board that is wide enough to guide your cut.
2. Hold the handle with one hand and keep your other hand away from the blade’s path.
3. Start with the crust using a steady back-and-forth motion, without forcing downward.
4. Adjust the length of the motion to the thickness of the bread and reposition it if necessary.
5. Wait for very hot bread to cool sufficiently before slicing to avoid crushing the crumb.

Usage and precautions

The serrated blade is sharp. Keep your fingers, your other hand, and the edge of the board out of its path. Do not test the sharpness with your finger and do not attempt to cut hard or frozen food with this knife.

Always use a stable and sufficiently large cutting board. Do not leave the knife in the sink, do not pass it from hand to hand, and keep it out of the reach of children when not in use.

Cleaning and storage

Remove crumbs after use and clean the blade carefully. If the handle is wooden, avoid soaking it or placing it in the dishwasher, unless the manual states otherwise. Wipe it quickly and dry the blade completely before storing.

Store the knife in a drawer, block, or suitable guard so that the teeth of the blade do not snag hands or other utensils. Check the condition of the handle and blade regularly, and stop using it if any part is cracked, loose, or deformed.
